Welcome to the National Memorial Arboretum, the Nation’s year-round place to Remember. A special place to celebrate lives lived and commemorate lives lost in service to our country.
Founded by Commander David Childs CBE over 25 years ago with a seed of an idea; to ensure we never forget to remember the immeasurable contribution of our Armed Forces community, Emergency Services and civilian organisations.
Today, the Arboretum has flourished into a beautiful and ever-evolving living landscape. A peaceful haven for the flora and fauna that call it home. From over 25,000 trees that stand tall and proud in Remembrance of people and organisations who gave so much, to inspiring, sculptural memorials rich in symbolism and design.
While many of the stories are thought-provoking, it’s hard not to feel lifted. From heart-warming tales of humanity throughout history, to vibrant greenery alive with the sounds of joyful birdsong. There is something for everyone to explore and discover.
Despite the scale of the 150-acre Arboretum site, planning your visit doesn’t need to be overwhelming.
From short strolls through the gardens close to the Remembrance Centre, to a full day visit with a leisurely lunch, our suggested itineraries below highlight the different ways your group could spend their time with us.
