A place to ensure that we never forget the unwavering service and unthinkable sacrifices made for our Nation.

In the 1990s, our founder, Commander David Childs, returned from a trip to Arlington Cemetery and the United States National Arboretum with a determined seed of an idea and a passionate belief that our Nation needed a place to remember.

Today, some 25 years since opening to the public, the National Memorial Arboretum has flourished into the Nation’s year-round place to Remember, freely open to all.

A living, breathing tribute to the dedication, heroism and tenacity made by ordinary people in the most extraordinary times. A special place, where we can remember their contribution.

Annually, we welcome over 300,000 visitors each year to our 150-acre natural landscape, which provides so much to so many as a place:

• where people come to remember those that they have loved and lost
• where new memories are made with family, friends and comrades
• where the next generation feels empowered with a knowledge of history, a sense of identity and an understanding of remembrance and why it’s an important human need
• where nature lives and grows - this former mineral extraction site is a much-loved home to 25,000 trees along with the animals and insects that inhabit them
  
• that provides positive mental health benefits, as a space to explore difficult emotions or to shed the constraints of everyday living, and feel better for it.
