Commemorating the 309 British and Commonwealth soldiers who were shot and later pardoned during the First World War, the Shot at Dawn Memorial has been completely restored and is now open.
The Arboretum is the perfect venue for developing an understanding of Remembrance, as well as a whole host of other subjects including science, literacy and geography. We support various curriculum-based objectives through a fully inclusive learning programme, actively engaging visitors of all ages.
It costs £1,648 to maintain and run our beautiful site during an average visit to the Arboretum*. That’s around £8 per minute.
