Join us in the Arboretum's seasonal setting for a celebration of all things Autumn.
From our Food & Craft Fair to woodland games and crafts, our autumn festival will feature activities for the whole family.
Food & Craft Fair - 9am - 5pm
The makers in our Food & Craft fair will be selling a range of handmade seasonal crafts and food produce,from tasty chocolate treats, to cheeses, wines and whiskeys.
Woodland Animals - 10am - 4pm
Meet a variety of real woodland creatures and birds throughout the weekend.
Saturday 21 September - Birdwatching for Beginners - 9am - 12pm
Our dedicated guides will explain migration and which birds to look out for in the different seasons during this three-hour guided walk. They will try to get you to recognise common bird song as a means of identifying different birds and also give tips on attracting birds into your own gardens. Appropriate footwear and clothing is recommended. Advance booking is required. Find out more...

Our youngest visitors will enjoy participating in our short story telling sessions.
Archery - 9am - 5pm

Woodland Games, 10.30am - 11.30am, 12pm - 1pm, 2.30pm - 3.30pm
Our woodland skills leaders will be leading fun woodland games sessions across the weekend. Participate as a family, working together to complete our team tasks. These inclusive activities are suitable for all members of the family and will allow families to explore the Watersmeet woodland whilst having some woodland fun.
Woodland Games sessions will last approximately 1 hour and must be booked upon arrival at the Arboretum. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult throughout the session. Suitable outdoor footwear and clothing is essential.
Woodland Craft Grotto - 10am - 3pm
Using natural materials visitors of all ages will enjoy trying our simple woodland craft make and take activities which include bug b&bs and stick stars.
Guided Walks - 12pm - 1pm, 2pm - 3pm
Discover more about the natural environment of the Arboretum on one of our wildlife themed guided walks. £3 per person.
Stick Man Trail - 9am - 4.30pm
Help Stick Man find his way back to the Family Tree on the Stick Man trail. Pick up a free trail map from the Welcome Desk.
Timings are subject to change.
Although dogs are welcome at the Arboretum, visitors should note that our Autumn Festival activities are sited off our dog walking route, with this in mind, dogs will not be permitted in these areas.
