VJ 80 Commemoration Service and Wreath Laying

The Children, Families and Friends of Far East Prisoners of War will commemorate 80 years since VJ Day with a service and wreath laying on 17 August 2025 at the FEPOW Building at the Arboretum.

COFEPOW established the Far East Prisoners of War Memorial Building, not only to remember those who died, but also to encompass the whole story of events during this unprecedented chapter in British history.

The Far East Prisoners of War Memorial Building was officially opened on 15 August 2005, the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in the Far East.

Saturday 16 August 2025 - Service at Lichfield Cathedral at 2pm

Saturday 16 August 2025 - Dinner at the Arboretum at 7pm - £26 per person*

Sunday 17 August 2025 - Lunch at the Arboretum at 1pm - £23 per person*
