Holocaust Memorial Day Learning Activities

Holocaust Memorial Day is marked annually to remember the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of people murdered under Nazi persecution of other groups and during more recent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Whilst Holocaust Memorial Day itself is on 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, on 26 January we will be inviting Upper Key Stage 2 classes to the Arboretum to take part in two free indoor workshops to learn more about the Holocaust, as well as explore our memorials to discover the importance of Remembrance.

The day will also include an Act of Remembrance in the chapel.
