The National Memorial Arboretum is open freely to all, year-round from 10am-5pm (closes at 4pm from 15 Nov), every day except Christmas Day.  

Entry to the Arboretum is free, but for everyone's comfort we are limiting the numbers onsite. We recommend pre-booking your visit to guarantee entry. You can check our latest availability and book online using the link below. 

 

Visitors are advised that the Coffee Shop is currently closed. Our Restaurant is open from 10am - 5pm.

On Thursday 11 November a service will be held on the Armed Forces Memorial. All tickets to attend the service on the Armed Forces Memorial are now allocated.

We will also be broadcasting our service via our YouTube channel and Facebook page for those unable to attend the service on the day.

Even if you won't be attending the service on the Armed Forces Memorial it is still possible to visit the Arboretum on Armistice Day. 

For the comfort of our visitors and team we are limiting the numbers of visitors permitted onsite. We strongly recommend pre-booking your visit to guarantee entry on Armistice Day. Motorcycles / cycles / visitors arriving on foot will not be charged but booking is still recommend. If you are arriving on site by car / motorcycle you will require one parking ticket per vehicle. The ticket will permit each individual in your vehicle to enter our site. Individuals and cyclists will require individual tickets.

What time will the Arboretum open on Armistice Day?

The Remembrance Centre will open at 9am.  All ticketholders will need to be seated for the service on the Armed Forces Memorial by no later than 10.30am (there will be no admittance to the Armed Forces Memorial after this time).

Do I need to pre-book to visit on Armistice Day?

Visitors wishing to attend the service on the Armed Forces Memorial will be required to book a service ticket in advance.

I have a blue badge where will I be required to park?
A limited number of blue badge spaces are available close to the Remembrance Centre which will be issued on a first-come-first served basis. A pick-up/ drop-off point is also available close to the Remembrance Centre. Please follow the instructions of our parking attendants on duty. 
Where will I be required to park?
We will be utilising both of our parking areas on Armistice Day. Please follow the instructions of our parking attendants on duty who direct you to a parking area. 
Do Armistice Day ticket holders need to bring anything with them on the day?

Registration for the event will open at 9am in the Remembrance Centre. You will be asked to present your ticket confirmation letter, either in a digital or printed format, and each ticket holder in your party should be able to produce photographic identification at the registration desk should this be requested. This can include a passport, driving license, EU identity card, Armed Forces identity card or firearms certificate. Failure to present suitable photographic identification will result in the prevention of entry to the service area. Please note that random bag searches maybe carried out by the Police and only small handbags will be permitted to the service area.  

Will the Daily Act of Remembrance take place on Armistice Day?
Our 11am daily act of Remembrance will not take place on Armistice Day. 
Will the service go ahead in inclement weather?

The Armistice Day service will take place in the event of inclement weather. A small handbag sized umbrella will be permitted at the event, however large golf umbrellas cannot be used.

Can I purchase a wreath and floral tribute to lay during the serivce?

Wreaths and individual tokens of Remembrance, such as fresh flowers or poppy tributes, may be laid at the Memorial or on the centre plinth as indicated in the Order of Service. 

Poppy tributes are available to purchase within the Remembrance Centre.

If you would like to order a wreath, at a cost of £18 (plain) or £20 (personalised) please call 01283 245 100. Wreaths will be made available for collection on the day of the event. 

Can I book a mobility scooter or wheelchair?

The Arboretum has a limited number of both manual wheelchairs (by donation) and motorised scooters (£5.00) which can be booked by calling 01283 245 100. 

Can I watch the service if I haven't got a ticket to watch the service on the Armed Forces Memorial?
Our Armistice Day service will be broadcast via our YouTube channel  and Facebook page for those wishing to participate but who are unable to attend the service.
What time will the service begin?

Visitors with tickets to attend the service on the Armed Forces Memorial are required to be seated for the service by no later than 10.30am.

The online broadcast of the service will begin at 10.30am to give viewers the opportunity to join before the services commences. 

 

 

Will there be a parade on Armistice Day?
We will not be hosting a parade on site at the Arboretum on Armistice Day. 
Will I be able to bring my standard to parade during the Armistice Day service?
Only the Union Flag and National Memorial Arboretum branch standard will be paraded during the Armistice Day service.
