"The Three Amigo's" Memorial Dedication

On the 14th April 1945, three soldiers from the Brazilian Mountain Infantry Battalion were surrounded whilst on a night patrol of German position at Montese in Italy.

When they refused to surrender after running out of ammunition, they fixed bayonets to their rifles and charged the enemy. The German's honoured this bravery on their graves as "Three Brazilian Heroes" Over 27,000 Brazilians fought in Italy during WW2 and soon after the battle of Montese over one million Germans surrendered.
