Our 150-acre site is home to an abundance of wildlife and children will enjoy exploring the many habitats and natural features of the site, including our maturing wildlife pond. Bug explorer back packs are available to hire for budding zoologists and a children’s woodland and activity area is available for children over 7 years.
Many of the Arboretum’s memorials include animal symbolism which our younger visitors like to discover with the help of our new animal trail, available to purchase for £2.50. A World War I discovery trail is also available.
During the school holidays a variety of events take place to encourage children to get hands-on in our grounds. Visit our events pages for further information.
Children’s meal boxes are sold on site and picnic areas are also available. We offer baby change facilities.
Top Tip... Pond dipping equipment is available for hire on selected days throughout the year but we welcome visitors with their own equipment daily. Children should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
