Visiting as a group

A visit to the National Memorial Arboretum is perfect for groups. As well as being a place of national and historical significance, we offer a great value day out.

To help you make the most of your visit we offer a range of packages which can be tailored to the suit the needs of your group and can include lunch, tours, talks and entry into our new Landscapes of Life exhibition. 

Groups can enhance their visit to the Arboretum with activities including:

Guided Walks
Our experienced guides are very knowledgable about the history of our site, the memorials featured and our plans for the future. Join them on a guided walk at 11.30am and 2.30pm everyday to hear their fascinating insights.

Train Tour
Take a trip on a covered land train and enjoy the running commentary as you explore the grounds of the Arboretum and the symbolism behind many of the memorials. Please note our land train does not operate in January. A charge applies for this activity, special group discounts apply to pre booked group parties.  

Landscapes of Life exhibition
Explore our brand new exhibition which helps to interpret the cultural significance of Remembrance and how we as individuals and a society remember. Then venture out into the grounds with our audio guide to delve deeper into the meaning of more than 90 of the memorials and the landscape of the Arboretum. A charge applies for this activity, special group discounts apply to pre booked group parties.  

Also included with your Landscapes of Life ticket is access to our temporary exhibition gallery. Where currently you can view the Echoes of War exhibition by painter Robert Perry. 

Food and Drink
We offer a wide range of catering options at the Arboretum, with both a restaurant and coffee shop onsite. The following options can be pre-booked in advance of a group visit: two-course lunch, afternoon tea, rustic afternoon tea, tea, coffee and biscuits.

Tailor-made Tours
Our Tailor-made Tours are ideal for parties of up to seven people. We'll provide an experienced volunteer guide as your personal host for the day. Learn about our memorials and hear the fascinating stories behind them, all from the comfort of an electric buggy. Included with this package is a delicious two-course lunch.   

Our packages are always very popular so advance booking is required to avoid disappointment.

Coach Drivers
If you book in advance, you'll receive a £5 gift voucher on arrival to spend in the Restaurant or Coffee Shop. We also provide free coach parking too.

Throughout the year we host a range of enjoyable events and activities. From poignant Remembrance services to celebrations such as Armed Forces Day and seasonal events including Holly Wreath Making. If you would like to plan your group visit around one of our special events or activities visit our events calendar to find out what's on throughout the year.

Commemorating the Battle of the Somme.
Between the 1 July and 18 November, in partnership with The Royal British Legion, we will be commemorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme. Christmas at the Arboretum
Our grounds, which are open throughout the year, also host a range of enjoyable seasonal events and activities. This winter, plan a visit on the 3 and 4 December to browse for festive treats and gifts at our Christmas Gift and Food Fair or book your party onto a Holly Wreath Making Masterclass. 

Groups are also able to book for our Festive Afternoon Tea and Train Tour. New for 2016 and exclusively for groups, this package will allow parties, of ten or more, to enjoy exploring the grounds from the comfort of our covered land train before feasting on a festive afternoon tea. As part of this package visitors will also receive a mini Christmas tree sapling to grow at home, a reminder of an unforgettable experience.

Stopping En Route
As a free to enter site, we provide the perfect rest stop for groups travelling elsewhere. Located just off the A38 between Lichfield and Burton upon Trent, we are ideally located for a short stop before reaching the M6, M42 and M1. Spend an hour with us and sample our homemade cakes, enjoy a pot of tea and take in our amazing landscape.  

Visiting Staffordshire
Staffordshire and the National Forest are beautiful areas to visit. If you are looking to extend your stay, there is a wide choice of nearby accommodation on offer from cosy, countryside B&Bs to large chain hotels with leisure facilities. If you book online here, you will help to support our charity as we receive a small commission from accommodation providers.

We Visit You
Do you want to share your love of the Arboretum with your friends, colleagues and association members, or maybe you are looking for future speakers for your WI, Probus or youth group?

One of our friendly, experienced team of speakers would be delighted to visit you and share their wealth of knowledge, stories and photos. Talks can be tailored to suit your group i.e. Military, Wildlife, Trees, Landscape. Presentations are available throughout the UK, a small charge and travel expenses will apply – speakers will supply any equipment required.
