Use DE13 7AR for satellite navigation systems, and RAC and AA route planners.
M1 (southbound) – exit at Junction 28 and take the A38 south bypassing Derby and Burton to the A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M1 (northbound) – exit onto M6 north then after Corley Services , follow signs for M6 (Toll) & M42. Leave at next junction (Junction 9 M42 ) signposted A 446, then follow A446 Lichfield to A38 Lichfield, then A38 Derby to A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M6 (southbound) – exit Junction 15 and follow A50 Derby then A38 Lichfield to A 513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M6 (northbound) South of Birmingham – follow signs for M6 (Toll) & M42, then leave at next junction (Junction 9 M42 ) signposted A 446. Follow A446 Lichfield to A38 Lichfield, then A38 Derby to A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M6 (northbound) & M6 North of Birmingham – leave M6 at Junction 11, follow A5 then A38 Derby until A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
M54 (eastbound) – leave at Junction 1 and take A460 Cannock passing over M6. Continue towards the A5 (Tamworth), then A38 Derby until A513 Tamworth. Follow local signage to Alrewas, then brown signs to site entrance.
Parking is available for cars, coaches and motorcycles on the main car park off Croxall Road, just past the Arboretum entrance. The car park next to the Remembrance Centre is reserved for blue badge holders, although coach and car drop-off points are available.
Visitors arriving independently by car should be aware that a parking charge of £3.00 per day applies (pay and display). This also applies to blue badge holders. There is no charge for coaches or motorcycles.
Coach Operators should always book their arrival times with the Arboretum on 01283 245 143.
Please note: all monies from parking fees are given directly to the charity and help to ensure the National Memorial Arboretum remains a free entry site.
Arriving by Public Transport
Trains: Lichfield Trent Valley is the closest railway station (5-6 miles). Alternatively, Burton upon Trent and Tamworth railway stations are both about 8 miles away.
Buses: A daily bus service operates between Burton upon Trent and Lichfield via Alrewas village (a 30-minute walk to the Arboretum). There are different timetables for weekends and bank holidays. Full timetable information is available from www.midlandclassic.com.

Arriving by Bicycle
National Cycle Route 54 runs from Lichfield to Burton upon Trent through Alrewas village. From Beacon Park, Lichfield, follow the route to the canal bridge at Fradley. Turn right and follow the signed cycle link to the Arboretum. The distance from the canal bridge at Fradley on route 54 to the Arboretum is approximately 3 miles.
All visitors arriving by bicycle are able to park their cycle at one of the designated spaces outside the Remembrance Centre. Bicycles are not allowed within the Remembrance Centre, and should not be used on site.
Arriving by Canal Boat
The Arboretum is situated a few miles from the Trent and Mersey Canal and is accessible via bridges 46, 47 or 48 in Alrewas village, approximately a 40-minute walk to the Arboretum. To help plan your arrival, download our detailed directions from the Trent and Mersey Canal document.
