We are currently recruiting for the following opportunities:
Located in Staffordshire, at the heart of the nation and part of The National Forest, the Arboretum is independently registered and part of the Royal British Legion family of Charities. We recently topped a public poll of lottery funded ‘national treasures’. The Arboretum will undergo a major transformation from summer 2015 through to autumn 2016 when a much needed new visitor centre and facilities will be constructed. A major capital campaign has been underway and over £10.5 million of the £15.7m target has been raised.
The successful candidate must have proven fundraising experience to include direct-mail, membership based and person to person fundraising. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Attendance and delivery of events outside normal working hours will be required and the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload will be essential.
A living tribute to war-time generations of the twentieth century, and as a gift to their memory for future generations, planting began at the National Memorial Arboretum in 1997.
The project began with no money, no land and no staff. The original volunteers made the growth and development of the Arboretum possible and regular volunteers now number 225. Getting involved in all areas, the volunteers keep the Visitor Centre running, lead guided walks, help out with grounds maintenance and much more besides!
