WWI Summer Activities

Join us this summer to enjoy a wide range of fascinating events and activities to commemorate the end of the First World War.


14 July - 2 September 2018

Throughout the summer holidays younger visitors can enjoy discovering the stories behind a variety of First World War characters. Each backpack will contain exploratory resources, dressing up items and mini 'mission' cards. £2.50 per backpack (+£5 refundable deposit).​

The impact of World War I was felt across the globe. As war raged, people watched as the world changed around them. Discover more about some of the everyday items that can trace their development to World War I in this fascinating free exhibition. Find out more here.


Summer Storytelling

18 July - 29 August 2018

During the school holidays young (and young at heart) visitors can participate in our summer storytelling sessions. Delivered by costumed interpreters, the stories will help visitors learn more about people who lived and served during World War I.
