What is the start/end time of the event?
Admission to the event site is from 6pm, with the Proms performance beginning at 8pm. We recommend arriving in good time to allow for ticket checks. The event is scheduled to conclude at 10.30pm. Please note that timings are subject to change.
Can we arrive earlier in the day for the event?
Yes. The Arboretum grounds will be open from 9am, and will remain open to ticket holders until the start of the evening’s performance. We would encourage ticket holders to arrive early and enjoy our beautiful grounds. Visit our website to see the range of daily activities available. www.thenma.org.uk.
Getting to the Arboretum
The National Memorial Arboretum is located in Alrewas, Staffordshire, and is well signposted from the surrounding areas.
Arriving By Car, Coach and Motorcycle: Use DE13 7AR for satellite navigation systems.
Arriving by Train: Lichfield Trent Valley is the closest railway station (5-6 miles). Alternatively, Lichfield City, although further, is located close to the bus station and provides the best public transport links. Burton upon Trent and Tamworth railway stations are also both about 8 miles away.

Parking and Accessibility
Will there be plenty of parking?
Parking will be available on our main car park, as well as our overflow car park which is just a 3 minute walk along Croxall Road. Disabled bays are available in the main car park, as well as a drop off / pick up point.
Is there a charge for car parking?
Yes, there is a charge of £3.00 per vehicle. This cost supports the ongoing maintenance of the Arboretum, which is a registered charity.
What do I do if I need to pop back to the car for something I’ve forgotten?
When you arrive at the Arboretum your tickets will be checked and you will be issued with a wristband which will permit you entry to the event site. You will need to show the wristband to obtain re-entry to the event site.
Is the site wheelchair/pushchair friendly?
There is level access to the Remembrance Centre, where toilet facilities, including disabled cubicles and baby changing facilities are available. Firm, level paths give good access to the performance site which is located on a firm, grass area of the Arboretum which is accessible to those with pushchairs or those with limited mobility.
Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available to hire. To ensure availability, they should be booked in advance. We respectfully ask that a donation is made for the use of a manual wheelchair; a charge of £5 applies for the hire of a motorised scooter. Payment will be taken at the time of booking. Please note that motorised scooters are not permitted in the Remembrance Centre, manual wheelchairs are provided for indoor use.
Are dogs allowed into the event?
Due to the nature of our site and for the comfort of all our visitors, only working assistance dogs are allowed within the memorial grounds – including the performance area - and Remembrance Centre.
Will food and drink be available?
Our restaurant will be open until the end of the intermission serving a range of hot and cold food and beverages. The coffee shop will also be open until 5pm. From 6pm, drinks and cold snacks will be available to purchase from a concession at the event site.
Can I bring a picnic?
Of course! You are welcome to bring alcohol, including bottles of wine, though we do ask that all drinks are consumed from plastic drinkware. Please note that naked flames, BBQ’s, gas stoves and candles are not permitted at the event and we would be grateful if you would deposit any litter in the bins available before you leave our site.
I’ve pre-ordered a Premier Picnic – where do I collect it?
Premier picnics can be collected from our restaurant on production of your ‘Premier Picnic’ ticket.
I’ve decided I want a Premier Picnic – can I add one to my booking?
Yes, please call us on 01283 245 100 to speak to a member of our team, or book online at www.thenma.org.uk. Payment will be taken at time of booking.
Are there toilet facilities nearby?
There will be male, female and disabled toilets located at the event site as well as in our Remembrance Centre.
Will the gift shop be open?
The gift shop will remain open until the end of the intermission. A selection of essential proms favourite products including flags and proms performance programme will be available to purchase on the event site.
Are seats available?
Please do bring something to sit on such as a blanket or picnic chair – seating will not be provided. We politely ask that you do not bring tents, gazebos, parasols or any other items which may obstruct views for other attendees.
What happens if I cannot attend?
Unfortunately due to the high demand for tickets, they are non-refundable.
What about if the weather is bad?
The event will go ahead in the event of inclement weather. We ask that you check the weather forecast and come prepared! Ponchos and umbrellas are available for purchase in our gift shop.
