May Half Term Family Activities

Make a date to visit the Arboretum this May Half Term, where younger visitors can explore the world around them in the Arboretum's seasonal setting.

Nature Detective Backpacks

Keen explorers can pick up one of our Nature Detective Backpacks, exploring the various habitats the Arboretum has to offer and seeing what creepy crawlies live within. Included is a trail map, binoculars, a magnifying glass and a bug pot to study your findings before releasing them back into the wild.

A £4 hire charge will apply for each backpack.

The Stick Man Trail*

Based on the popular children's book Stick Man*, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, this trail tells the story of Stick Man and his adventure back home to the Family Tree.

Please note this walk will be taking place outdoors on our Arboretum grounds, so we recommend that all participants wear appropriate footwear and clothing. At times this walk may deviate from our dedicated dog walking route, visitors wishing to participate in this activity are unable to bring dogs on this trail.

This trail is FREE of charge. Activity packs to support this trail will be available for £2.50.
