A Spotlight On: Nepal, Gurkhas and The Gurkha Welfare Trust

Join Major (Retired) Rob Cross for a verbal trek into the hills of Nepal, meeting some of the people from whom the Gurkhas were recruited. 

He will discuss their environment: the mountains, crops etc, and take audiences on a trip to Kathmandu, before discussing what the Gurkha Welfare Trust does for their pensioners, widows and their families in Nepal.

Major (Retired) Rob Cross joined the Army as a Boy Soldier (Army Apprentice School, Harrogate) in 1958 After serving as a member of the Corps of Royal Engineers in many countries, he retired from the Army in 1997 as a major. Continuing to visit exotic locations as a civil servant, he states that the highlight of his Army career was 3 years in Kathmandu with British Gurkhas Nepal.
