A short service of Remembrance and a wreath laying will take place at the Arboretum to commemorate ‘D’ Day.
Termed D-Day, the Normandy landings took place on 6 June 1944. D-Day was the largest naval, airborne and land operation in history and was supported by many allied nations. Nearly 7,000 naval vessels participated in operation ‘Neptune’, the naval arm of the attack. D-Day was a turning point in World War II.Read more
