A Spotlight On: The Scout Association - Jamboree Adventures of an Explorer Scout

Join 18-year old former Scout Jake Woollard who will be delivering our February Spotlight On talk. Jake will be sharing his experiences of 11 years of scouting and adventures at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree.

During the talk Jake will also be joined by Paul Little. Paul, the Deputy County Commissioner (programme) for Birmingham County, will talk further about the history and symbolism behind the Scouting Memorial which was dedicated in 2016 at the Arboretum.

The 23rd World Scout Jamboree was held in Japan in 2015. The twelve day event attracted around 35,000 individuals from 155 countries.  Around the world there are 164 different National Scout Organisations situated in around 224 countries, in Europe there are approximately 1.7 million members.
