Memorial Information

The Arboretum houses some unusual memorials, many of which are visible from the Visitor Centre.

The memorials fall into several categories:

  • Civil Services
    • Police
    • Fire Brigade
    • Ambulance Service
  • Charities
  • Local organisations
  • Overseas organisations

   Burma railway with Little Remembrance Crosses at the Arboretum
A section of the notorious Burma Railway preserved at the Arboretum. The railway was made infamous through the film "Bridge on the River Kwai".

Among the memorials are the following:
