JB Kind’s 46 employees have a track record for undertaking large and often unusual challenges to support the firm’s chosen causes. JB Kind’s board, team members as well as their friends and families have taken part in activities as diverse as sky-diving from 13,000 feet, trekking one of the company’s doors up to the top of Mount Snowdon and competing in its very own ‘Warehouse Olympics’.
JB Kind Managing Director James Cadman explains why, in 2015, the company has chosen the Arboretum and what this year’s fundraising plans are: “The Arboretum recognises the immense sacrifice that thousands of people have given on behalf of their country and provides a place of Remembrance which honours the fallen – a lasting and accessible memorial to those that have served in our Armed Forces. The Arboretum is trying to raise funds to improve its facilities for the thousands of people that visit each year, and to do that they need companies just like us to play their own part in raising whatever funds they can to help them achieve their monetary target.
“We are helping to organise a charity walk during August in tribute to World War One hero and holder of Britain’s highest honour for bravery the Victoria Cross, William Coltman. The walk will involve JB Kind and Arboretum employees, family and friends. We are finalising the event plan at the moment and we will be making another announcement about this fundraiser in a few months, so please watch out for the details to find out how you can support this exceptionally worthy cause.”
Sarah Montgomery, Managing Director of the National Memorial Arboretum, commented:
“I’m delighted and very grateful that JB Kind has chosen to support the Arboretum as its charity of the year for 2015. The Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance; a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in our country. Support from JB Kind alongside all our other supporters will help to keep this nationally important site free to enter for all.”
